Maternal Mental Health Counseling

Maternal Mental Health Counseling is provided by Jenn Kirschner, LSW

What they often don't tell women to expect when they are expecting is that pregnancy can affect their mental health. Depression and anxiety are the most common mental health problems in pregnancy and they affect about 10 to 15 out of every 100 pregnant women in the US. Moreover, a woman's mental health may begin to suffer even before she delivers a baby. Many women have trouble getting or staying pregnant. With all the stress that women go through on their journey to motherhood, they often do not see their own mental health as a priority and don't seek help thinking that they should just deal with it on their own. Jenn's goal is to help you put yourself first as she believes that self-parenting is a key component in living a healthy, balanced adult life. She connects with her clients through compassion and humor and uses her personal and professional experience to help each client find their inner strength and reach their individual goals.
