Counseling for Children and Families
AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS
Being a parent is not easy. Being a parent of a child with special needs is harder than one could ever imagine. Here, at Spectrum of Solutions, we understand special kids and special challenges that their families face. We use a combination of developmental and behavioral therapies along with integrative family therapy approach to help each family find solutions for their own, unique situation.
Anxiety disorders are very common in young children. Most issues related to childhood anxiety can be resolved through short term therapy consisting of family counseling and child focused cognitive-behavioral therapy where a child learns to control their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Medication is not the only treatment option for children and adults with ADHD. Though medication treatment may be necessary, there are many skills that individuals with ADHD can learn in counseling that can help them succeed in school and at work. Family therapy can help the parents develop better understanding of the unique needs and challenges of their child. Children benefit from counseling through learning ways to be in control of their own mind and body which is the key to success in dealing with ADHD and many other conditions.
