Testing and Evaluation

Boys at School

Testing and evaluation services are provided by Danielle Epler, PsyD.

Dr. Epler is a Licensed Psychologist, who offers comprehensive diagnostic and psycho-educational evaluations to children ages 2 ½ and up.

Specializations include:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders

  • Global Developmental Delays

  • Intellectual Disability

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

  • Learning Disorders

The comprehensive evaluation fees vary depending on the referral question and complexity of the case. Comprehensive evaluations can range from 5-12 hours in total, which includes an intake, test administration, report writing time, and feedback. You and your family will attend an intake session where Dr. Epler will learn more about your current concerns and your child’s early development. Following an intake, Dr. Epler will complete the testing portion of the assessment. Testing will span several hours and will include administration of measures with your child, as well as questionnaires that you will complete related to the referral question. Lastly, Dr. Epler will provide a comprehensive report summarizing information collected during intake and testing, as well as resources and recommendations for your child. This report will be discussed during a feedback session and a copy will be provided at the time of feedback.

Diagnostic evaluations may be covered by insurance. Dr. Epler is in network with Highmark (Blue Cross Blue Shield, Horizon, Anthem) plans, Aetna and United Healthcare (Optum). She is out of network with Personal Choice, Keystone Health Plan East, Cigna, and other insurance plans. If you have out of network benefits, you may be able to get reimbursed by your insurance company directly for the part of the evaluation cost. Dr. Epler will provide a receipt that can be submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement.

Out of network comprehensive evaluation fees typically range from 1000 to 2200.

Most common reasons for seeking comprehensive evaluation services by a Licensed Psychologist:

  • Getting a formal diagnosis for obtaining Medical Assistance and other supports for the child

  • Gaining an understanding of the child's strengths and the areas of need where supports may be needed

  • Getting recommendations for various services and supports that can benefit the child in the home and school setting

  • Obtaining recommendations for a 504 or IEP plan
